always ask
ALWAYS ASK

Art and design have changed, both as fields of practice and subjects of intellectual inquiry – this is something we recognize at the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD), Canada’s “university of the imagination.”

So too has the world changed, creating new challenges for contemporary society and raising new questions about the state of the arts, the economy and the environment – questions that demand innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.

Tenacity, agility and rigor. At OCAD, these are our bragging rights. They characterize our combination of studio-based learning and critical inquiry. And they allow us to see that as the world evolves, we evolve with it.

In September 2009, we’ll launch our two newest graduate-degree programs:

Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation

This MDes program positions design as the crucial link between social science, technology and business, drawing on essential design competencies to address the complex problems of contemporary society.

Master of Arts in Contemporary Art History
This MA program offers students an opportunity to analyze the breadth and depth of the pluralistic scene that is contemporary art.

These programs, in addition to our existing complement of master’s degrees, will offer the next generation of artists, designers and industry leaders a level of scholarship that is virtually unmatched in Canada.
