CRAFTY HAPPENING: Brokeback Pontiac (April 24)
by jen
So many of you will know Becky Johnson, either virtually through her blog chronicling her crafty exploits on the road and in Toronto, as an organizer of City of Craft, as a sometime contributor of posts and ideas to Toronto Craft Alert, or perhaps as the tireless maker of some pretty fantastic artist designed buttons through her Sweetie Pie Press.
Some of you may also know Becky’s car, Boris, as he has carted many a crafter (or craft-supporting supplies) around town and even out of town to various crafty affairs. Boris is very, very sick, which is really not a good thing for Becky who always seems to have plans on the go to get out of Dodge (or Toronto as it were), and also not a great thing for the rest of us carless people who rely on Boris for our own craft-related transportation.
This is all to say, Becky is throwing an event on Friday April 24th to raise funds to give Boris the care he needs to run again. As described by Becky, “An evening of performance, art, craft and revelry to raise money to fix a well worn touring vehicle.” It features performances by a whole whack of comedians and artists, and a silent auction of crafty goods (check out the growing gallery here).
