Felted Hat Workshop on the Waterfront
Saturday May 30, 2009
12:00-6:30 pm
$115 per class/includes materials
To make a felt hat one just needs a few simple tools. The wool used is called roving, first sheared from a sheep, washed, dyed and then the fibers are combed into loose ropes. By laying down the fibers, wetting them with hot water and soap, and then agitating the wool, amazingly enough they will begin to knot together and create a warm and durable material which we call felt. A real joy to play with. Come and join Tierre Taylor and Kathie Young for a hat-full of fun.
