Hello! It’s that time again and we’ve got some special news. Amy has taken a few months off to explore beautiful Iceland (lucky!!!!) and we’ve asked a few lovely individuals to share their Top Picks while she’s away.

Anabela from fieldguided is our first guest picker! Thanks for being a part of this! These picks are super delicious – enjoy!

1. The Moldy Doily

“In search of unraveling perfection and precious left-overs.” This blog is written by the LA artist Kime Buzzelli, and it is always full of pictures of the things that inspire her, from Art Deco-era gowns to fashion illustrations and beautiful magazine spreads. Her blog would definitely be covered in glitter and champagne if it came in paper form.

2. We Make Words

I am a huge fan of everything Amy Borrell does, including Vanilla Bug, Bakers Dozen, Tummy-Ache, One Day, and All the Mountains — phew! She and her friend Luci have created We Make Words, a project with pictures of objects arranged… well, to make words. The results are delightful.

3. Backyard Bill

This blog features pictures of people in their own clothes. It’s The Selby of fashion (at least that’s what I think). It’s an assembly of really hot people, basically.

4. Emma Cassi

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of lace, and so I adore jewelry designer Emma Cassi’s blog. Her styling is so inspiring, and I would love to get my hands on some her creations, which include doilies with hand-beading.

5. Liebe Marlene

Rhiannon, who lives in Atlanta, runs a lovely eBay vintage shop and posts about the incredible frocks that she finds, as well as her fashion inspiration. She has the uncanny ability to look effortlessly modern in antique dresses, and the collages on her blog are always so sweet.

1. Julie Floersch

there’s something beautiful about the process of quilt making, and quilts in general. I don’t think i ever really paid attention to it before until i took the sampler quilt at the workroom. Julie focuses and redefines the language of quilt making.

2. Jessica Rankin

Jessica Rankin’s work features a series of ‘mental maps’, with codes, signs and symbols that explore ideas of memory, intuition and interpretation. Take a look at this video, as she talks about her processes

3. Loveology

a lovely site containing all things beautiful. I really love the rain these days but it can get pretty yucky. so i’ve turned to pretty happy things on this blog.

4. a few of our favorite things

this website is a collaboration of two women – Alicia Bock and Susannah Conway who uses their Polaroid SX-70 cameras to shoot and share a few of their favorite things on a weekly basis

5. Love Armor Project

this is a project in america to show concern for both our military and the civilian populace in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. i don’t agree with war (who does) but i just really like the idea of bringing the community closer through the arts, crafts and design.

2.  Jeffrey Bowman

I love love love this illustrator, designer man living in the UK. I look at his works and my knees get wobbly and my speech becomes slurred… I love it.

3. sticks & stones magazine

A great little independent publication showcasing creativity and fresh ideas. A great little website too!

4. tenenbaum fail

Hahaha.. Some epic Wes Anderson fails.

5. OK Great

A really nicely designed blog which gathers the best in art, music and design. Definitely worth a visit.
