Worn Fashion Journal have outdone themselves this time in putting on a truly dynamic fundraising event for the launch of Issue 8: THE SHOE ISSUE.  They sent out 23 pairs of plain white Keds to Canadian artists and designers working in different styles and mediums and asked them to alter, embellish and redesign them to reflect their personal style.

On June 6th this diverse collection of shoes will be available to the highest bidder at SOL[e]D!  – a Gala Evening and Live Auction at the Bata Shoe Museum.  I have seen most of the completed designs and they are truly amazing – check out Amy’s profile on Tyler K. Rauman’s pair as an example of how these classic kicks have been totally transformed.

For $28 (advance ticket price) you will get a two year subscription to WORN Fashion Journal, access to all museum exhibits for the evening, cocktails, free food, and dancing with Toronto’s own SHAKE A TAIL djs.  Plus a portion of the proceeds will go towards FASHION CARES.
