CHILDREN’S CLASSES

Art Club Junior

From ages 5-8 years

Saturdays September 26– October 31, 2009 (6 sessions)

10:00 am– 12:00 noon

Students will learn the basics of fundamental art practices and media while creating exciting works of art.

$72 members/ $84 non– members

Art Club

From ages 8– 12 years

Saturdays September 26– October 31, 2009 (6 sessions)

1:00 pm– 3:00 pm

Students will further develop existing skills and improve creative thinking as they experiment with a variety of media and techniques in the creation of challenging projects.

Art Tots

From ages 3+ years with a parent

Wednesdays October 4– 28, 2009 (4 sessions)

From 10:00 am– 10:30 pm

Learn new art techniques and craft ideas that parents and young children can do together. Child friendly materials and a hands– on approach will allow junior artists to express in a fun & safe way.

$25 members/ $30 non– members

After School Art Club

A fun way to get creative and relax after school making arts and crafts with friends at the gallery!

Learn to Sew for Kids

with Claire Meldrum

For ages 10 – 14 years

Saturday Nov 7, 2009 from 9:30am – 4:00pm (includes a 1/2 hour break for lunch)

$42 members/ $50 non-members

A learn to sew class just for kids! Make a fun and colourful summer bag, perfect for sleepovers, beach trips, sports gear and more and learn how to work with fabric, apply a zipper and use a sewing machine. A sewing machine in good working order is required for this course, as well as a basic sewing kit. A materials list will be provided (Approximately $15-$18 for fabric and notions, depending on the fabric used).

ADULT CLASSES

Life Drawing (no instructor)

Wednesdays September 30, October 14 & 28, November 11, 2009 (4 sessions)

from 6:30 – 9:30 pm

$40 members/ $50 non-members

This Open Studio format allows each artist to determine their own needs ~ quick studies to extended poses. There is no instructor and each participant chooses their own media. No materials are provided by the gallery.

“Ordinary” Becomes Exquisite

Thursdays October 15, 22, 29, and November 5, 2009 (4 sessions)

from 6:00 – 8:00pm

$50 Members / $60 non– Members

Some of the greatest artists we know of took “ordinary” objects and turned them into masterpieces. This workshop is designed to discover the beauty of Still Life drawing and painting. Whether beginners or advanced artists, students will be introduced or “brush up” (no pun intended) on basic life drawing and painting skills. From using a view finder, to using a grid, to visual relationships; participants will be able to turn every day objects into works of art without limitations.
