Methinks is looking for original Chris’mas stockings, stocking stuffers and other artist-made gifts for its 2nd annual Holiday Popup Art Shop.

All media and forms are encouraged. Illustration and painting (prints and originals); decorative sculpture, shadow boxes and functional art objects; printed t-shirts, mittens, hats, jewelry, bags and fashion accessories: pillows and home décor; dolls, robots and plush monsters; artist books; fridge magnets and button sets; and Chris’mas stockings. Works should be prices $10 – $200.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
Dec 6

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
This conceptual art showroom will run Dec 10 – 31 at Project 165, with day and evening hours. Project 165 is a curious little social art space, nestled in Toronto’s Kensington Market, which has amazing storefront display windows, lots of shopping traffic and a broad range of patrons.

This year’s shop will take the form of the inside of a large-scale Chris’mas stocking. Imagine: Alice In Wonderland meets Santa’s Workshop meets Tom Waits as a gingerbread man.

The show will be promoted through our extensive mailing list, across the Internet, in print and by word-of-mouth. There will be an opening reception with hot chocolate, marshmallows and cozy sweaters.

If your work is accepted, a $15 administration fee applies, which entitles you to submit up to 5 original pieces, or up to 15 prints. You keep all proceeds from the sale of your work (unless you do really well and want to make a small donation to Project 165).

HOW TO APPLY:
Email methinkspresents@gmail.com. Provide up to five low-res images or a website link to proposed work (or similar work).
