The Artist Project Toronto is the art show with “soul” and one that celebrates and showcases the talents of Canadian and International independent artists. Now in its third year, the show returns to Toronto at a new location, the modernist styled, Queen Elizabeth Building at Toronto’s Exhibition Place.

The Artist Project is a meeting ground for artists, collectors and art enthusiasts. View and purchase original art from over 175 carefully juried contemporary artists and enjoy an eclectic program of talks, special features and art installations. First time buyers and seasoned collectors will find this four-day art fair is a rare opportunity to meet, learn and purchase directly from independent artists.

Opening Night Party in support of Sketch
$25 Opening Night Preview (open to 19 + years of age)

Be among the first to purchase and view original works of art from top independent artists. Enjoy an evening of art, music, and decadent treats! A portion of the ticket proceeds from the Opening Night Party will be donated to SKETCH, a charitable organization that creates art- making opportunities for young people who are street-involved and homeless or who are considered to be at risk.

After Party at the Drake Hotel: After 10pm the party will continue around the corner at the Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West). Enjoy cocktails and conversation long into the night – come early and stay late.

Untapped! Emerging Artist Competition – The Artist Project is proud to support the development of young artists through the Untapped Emerging Artist Competition. Selected from hundreds of applications, 16 of the best up-and-coming artists have been invited to participate in this special exhibition.

The Queen Competition – In celebration of our new home at the Queen Elizabeth Building, we have asked our talented exhibitors to create a piece of art based on the theme “Queen”. We can’t wait to see what they will create! Winning artists will receive $500, $250, and $100 for their entries. Be sure to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Art Chat Series – Back by popular demand, the Art Chat series offers a variety of engaging and inspiring seminars hosted by leading art and design experts. Art Chats are complimentary with admission, space subject to availability. Full schedule of speakers to be announced in December.

Video ArtBox – New for 2010! The Artist Project will be introducing an exciting new feature, the Video ArtBox. This interactive exhibition will showcase the work of cutting edge video and new media artists.

Installation Alley – New for 2010! Visitors will be able to explore site-specific installations and large scale sculpture.
