Leah tortures Steve with Bookbinding Lessons
Becky Johnson is curating tonight’s Trampoline Hall, and one of the lecturers (Steve Fisher) will be speaking about his general hatred of crafts. Becky forced Steve to confront his hatred aversion-therapy styles by making him knit a pin cushion at the knit cafe and book bind with Leah of the coldsnap bindery. See documentation here. I’m really interested to see how this immersion in actual craft informed his feelings about it.
Another local maker who will be lecturing tonight is Shannon Gerard, who will speak on her hatred of whales.
For those not familiar, Trampoline Hall is a monthly lecture series where a different person is asked to invite a trio of lecturers to speak on topics they are not experts in. It is fun.
Tonight it will take place at the Garrison at 8pm sharp (doors 7.30) In all likelihood tickets are sold out, but if you get there early you make score rush tickets at the door at 6.30.

hey, thanks for listing this, tca! it’s been really fun to watch steve learn crafts. i am as interested as anyone to see if he has had any changes of heart (although this was not really my goal). we all have to confront our own craft hates sometimes.
