HELP WANTED: Creative Works Studio seeks crafty mentors

Creative Works Studio is looking for mentors to work with its members.  This is an opportunity to share your skills and experience with someone struggling with a mental illness.

Creative Works Studio is a community art outreach program whose mandate is to provide an oasis from the daily rigors and challenges of life for people living with mental illness and addiction.  The Studio was established in 1995 as a unique initiative spearheaded by St. Michael’s Hospital Inner City Health Program.  Open five days a week, the Studio provides healing and restorative care within a professionally led creative arts environment.

Who We Are Looking For

  • crafters that are knowledgeable in their craft
  • individuals that are interested, open to or experienced in working with people struggling with mental illness
  • reliable, patient and flexible individuals with good communication skills
  • able to pass on community resources
  • able to discuss marketing opportunities
  • preferably someone with experience designing and making greeting cards
  • preferably someone with experience making small clay sculptures or pottery
  • we are open to other skills!

We recommend a duration of 4 months however each partnership can be negotiated and mentors can be accommodated accordingly.
