The Unconventional Sketchbook
Mixed Media Classes with Sharon Epstein

Thursdays 9:30am-12:30pm

This course will enable you to make the most out of using a sketchbook practice, develop images, observe and experiment with materials and ideas. Students will be encouraged to use drawing, print-making, resists, transfer and collage. The course will look at the purpose of the sketchbook to reflect, record, express ideas. Field trips as well as working in the studio will allow the student a variety of locations to develop their ideas. This course is for those who enjoy experimentation and process.

Suitable for all abilities. All levels welcome!

Screen Printing Workshop with Sharon Epstein

April 17 – May 8, 2010
Saturdays 9:30-12:30pm
Class Fee: $265 (includes material fee)

This exciting course gives an insight into the skills of silkscreen printing onto a variety of fabrics and papers. You will learn how to translate your ideas into prints through stencils and preparing/exposing images onto screens utilizing water based materials. This course is designed for those who enjoy experimentation and new methods of using color, texture and a variety of print techniques and processes.

All levels of experience are welcome!

Both classes are offered @ Contemporary Textile Studio (401 Richmond St., Studio 109)
