Log Cabin

Celebrate the summer season with a crafty class at the workroom.

- Father’s Day is approaching, so learn to make a Sewn Men’s Tie. You’ll be amazed at how simple this project is. We’ve also had lots of people take this class to make custom ties for wedding parties. What a wonderful way to customize a special day.

- Learn to build a classic quilt block in our Log Cabin workshop. This versatile block can be arranged in a surprising number of stunning layouts. This one day class will teach you how to sew your blocks in production style for faster results. This class is part of our a la carte quilting series, where you can pick and choose the blocks you’d like to learn, create the quilt of your own design and join us for our finishing class – Quilt Clinic.

-Whether you have a quilt you’d like to make, but don’t know where to start or if you have started a quilt, but aren’t sure how to finish, this class was designed just for you. The Quilt Clinic is a quilting class created around your individual quilting project. You get to work on any quilting project you like and get your specific questions asked, along with weekly demos on various finishing techniques. You’ll get expert guidance with your project and learn lots from everyone else’s projects too!

-For those of you interested in making clothing, Pattern Drafting : The Skirt will take you to the next level. Learning to manipulate the patterns you have with techniques like ‘slash and spread’ or adding gathering, pockets, pleats and yokes will give you the confidence to make your clothing exactly the way you want it. This eight week class covers learning pattern drafting techniques, drafting a skirt pattern of your design, and then sewing your final creation.

This is just a small selection of our classes! Download the workroom’s complete class calendar here.
