CRAFTY BIZ: Complete a Survey for a New Craft Shop in Hamilton & Win a Gift Certificate (deadline: June 26, 2011)
:::NOTE: link to survey originally posted is not working & cannot be corrected (long, uninteresting story!). Please head over to the original blog post and follow the link there. Thanks!:::
While I am loving living in Hamilton, one thing I find is missing from the craftscape here is a permanent space to get together and make stuff, procure supplies, get inspired by fabric & yarn, and meet other crafty folk looking to do the same. I was spoiled in Toronto with spaces that fulfilled these needs, and it wasn’t until moving that I realized just how important they are to feeling part of a crafting community. I have heard rumors of something brewing among the Beehive ladies, and I was PUMPED when I read the announcement that two of the members are planning to open Needlework - a sew by the hour, creative workspace. According to proprietors-to-be Elizabeth and Kate, Needlework promises to be, “a space where you’ll be inspired to learn new skills, finish old projects, and make something new; all while being surrounded by a thoughtfully curated selection of fabric, fibre and notions.”
If you live in the Hamilton area, perhaps you can spare a minute to fill out their survey right here. It is really very quick and will help them pin down what desires crafty folk in the area are seeking to fulfil. Survey participants have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to local shops White Elephant or Mixed Media – both great places to shop! The deadline for the survey is June 26th at midnight – hop to it and see you there when the Needlework dream becomes a bricks & mortar reality!
