While I am loving living in Hamilton, one thing I find is missing from the craftscape here is a permanent space to get together and make stuff, procure supplies, get inspired by fabric & yarn, and meet other crafty folk looking to do the same. I was spoiled in Toronto with spaces that fulfilled these needs, and it wasn’t until moving that I realized just how important they are to feeling part of a crafting community. I have heard rumors of something brewing among the Beehive ladies, and I was PUMPED when I read the announcement that two of the members are planning to open Needlework - a sew by the hour, creative workspace. According to proprietors-to-be Elizabeth and Kate, Needlework promises to be, “a space where you’ll be inspired to learn new skills, finish old projects, and make something new; all while being surrounded by a thoughtfully curated selection of fabric, fibre and notions.”

If you live in the Hamilton area, perhaps you can spare a minute to fill out their survey right here. It is really very quick and will help them pin down what desires crafty folk in the area are seeking to fulfil.
