POSTCARDS FROM THE ROAD: Gallery Hoppin’ in Chelsea and the Lower East Side, NYC
by tara
Last Saturday, I went on a fast and frantic tour of a few New York City art galleries on a day trip from Baltimore. 8 hours of driving, 6 hours of hanging out…what was I thinking?! Saw some great stuff though, including a model of the Expo ’67 Pulp and Paper Pavillion in a Chelsea gallery, as well some amazing sculpture by American artist Do Ho Suh. The glowing green sculpture, Home Within Home, is a dreamy architectural model that combines his childhood home in Korea and his home in the USA.

She is in Baltimore for the next four months as an exchange student studying Art History, and is looking forward to taking the opportunity to learn more about our crazy cousin country to the south during her visit. Her website of visual art and craft work can be found here.

Ahh…me too! Nice to see it there at the tail end of a particularly homesick week.
