Angelune met these guys at a work related function and, knowing nothing previously about the event, they offered their team up as volunteers for City of Craft 2009! They also are hooking us up with some technical help for the site. So we thought we’d help spread the word about their services here as a token of our thanks. Hope this helps some of you out too!

I met Michelle Gay at Sheridan College, as she did an artist talk for my sculpture class. She is also an alumni in the Art and Art history program – at the university of toronto and sheridan college. Her work involves beautiful illustrations and mixed digital media using interaction with the viewer. If you ever get the chance to see her, she’s quite a delight!

Open-Contents is a project by Toronto based glass artist Brad Turner. It is an attempt to link the physical world of arts and craft with the voluntary electronic community. As an installation of 26 hand made bottles, collectively representing the letters on a keyboard, participants are encouraged to submit their own message, via website, to the character of their choosing. For every electronic submission, the message will be printed and kept within the corresponding bottle. As the bottles fill [...]

This bright idea comes from the Treehouse Group, “a collective of Toronto-area thinkers who come together to create innovative solutions to pressing social problems.” Thanks to Becky for sending it along.

The Grown-Up Science Fair
