Help Wanted

We are looking to fill the following Intern positions:

COMMUNICATIONS/MARKETING
Love Facebook, Twitter, and telling everyone you know about cool stuff you come across? We are looking for someone who has a compulsive need and lots of fresh ideas about how to spread the word about TCA to new audiences (or remind people that we still exist!) and the capacity to develop and execute concrete plans in making this happen. An ideal candidate would have online marketing knowledge, be comfortable with social networking sites, write a mean press release, and generally have lots of fresh, fun ideas about how to engage new and existing readers with the TCA project. May involve some outreach at craft-related events.

EDITORIAL - filled!
Qualified candidates will have a background in magazine editing (online or print), including proofreading experience.  Must be able to work with us to create and follow a style guideline specific to the TCA, as well as develop story and column ideas.  Recruiting new writers from the local art and craft community will be a big part of the position, and a background and interest in local arts is essential.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT- filled!
This position involves posting submitted listings and researching exciting crafty events for posting. It is also a core organization and maintenance role which includes categorizing and tagging archive posts and researching and updating links. We are seeking well-organized, detail oriented candidates who enjoy research and have a need to put things in their place. Basic HTML and WordPress or blogging experience a bonus, but not required.

If one (or more) of these sounds up your alley, please email torontocraftalert@gmail.com with your CV and a message describing:

  • how your background and experience are compatible with the position
  • why you’re interested in the position and working with TCA
  • your interest and or involvement in craft, design, and DIY

Please include the name of the internship you are applying for in the email subject line.
