  What a great idea! My abandoned project has eyes, and has been looking down at me from atop a wall, where it’s easily in sight but out of mind, where it’s sat for more than a decade now!! In fact, last year, it even got a friend, abandoned project part II!

  I was an avid sewer in high school. I got too busy with work and college and put my love to the back burner. I wished to get back into sewing so I started a skirt over 3 years ago. I think I may have cut the lining wrong because it wasn’t draping right. I got discouraged by this and abandoned the mission and haven’t sewn since (only mending). I have had reoccurring nightmares about sewing fears ever since. Please make the nightmares STOP!

  Hello!! Ooh! A kick in the pants to finish that baby blanket I started 25 years ago…the baby might even have her own babies by now…! Do we get points for the longest time the project has been abandoned? The colours are so 80’s…you’ll see why I didn’t feel inspired to finish it!

  AFTER!!! I finally finished my Paprika blankie at 11p.m. March 9th, 2009. From fall 2008 to almost spring 2009. Whew. All those loose ends became fat, delicious 3D polka dots – whimsical, textural, randomly scattered circles that make this soft blanket slightly edgy. Now, instead of being frustrated by all those knots that were in the yarn, I’m delighted by the result. Thanks for the incentive. I Got ‘er Done!

  I have so many unfinished projects I have to decide if there’s one I can finish by the deadline. I did sign up for the mailing list though.   What a great contest! It’s too bad I just found out about it now (but I have joined the mailing list, so hopefully I will be more in the loop in the future…) I’m not sure if I’ll have an AFTER to post by midnight, but I have posted my sad little yellow dress that I started making in 1997(!!!!) Even sadder – when I was digging it out to photograph – I found at least four more equally deserving abandoned projects. But this has been successful already in bringing them to my attention and inspiring me to “Get ‘er done”!
