<p>The <a href="http://www.deca-arts.ca" target="_blank">Danforth East Community Association</a> (DECA) invites artisans  to participate in the second annual Danforth East Arts Fair, to be held  Sept. 18 &#38; 19, 2010. This outdoor arts and crafts fair is held  in East Lynn Park, a bustling community hub located on Toronto&#8217;s  Danforth Avenue between Coxwell and Woodbine.</p>
<p>The show provides artists with a unique opportunity to showcase and sell  their work. Our vibrant community is filled with new  families, established homeowners and creative folks who are eager to  support local artists.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<br/><p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/torontocraftalert/4329968541/"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2733/4329968541_95c1d44ffa.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="130" /></a>I recently learnt about the <a href="http://themodernquiltguild.com/">Modern Quilt Guild </a>concept from <a href="http://makesomething.ca">Karyn</a> and felt that it would be of serious interest to loads of TCA readers.  While traditional guilds can be fantastic for skill development and professional support, I have often heard complaints about high membership fees, feeling excluded by established members if your approach to the craft differs, and feelings of aesthetic alienation.  From all appearances, it seems like the MQG concept seeks to offer an alternative for those quilting outside the lines.</p>
