When I first came across Norblack Norwhite on Facebook (a friend had posted their profile in Vogue India) I was totally charmed by their bold, playful patterning and comfy yet super modern shapes. I immediately googled them and fell even harder for this partnership between Amrit Kumar and Mriga Kapadiya, two Toronto ladies who collaborate with small communities in India to produce textiles using traditional techniques such as Bandhani – a tie and dye process – and Rabari weaving and applique.
