<p>Hip new show &#8220;<strong>Hoopla!</strong>&#8221; is a unique exhibition and sale of Canadian handcrafted items specifically for babies, mothers and/or young children. We&#8217;re looking for talented artisans who make anything unique, funky and/or beautiful/practical for babies or children: furniture, clothing, decor, accessories, artwork etc. It must be handmade!</p>

<p>I recently posted about <a style="" href="http://torontocraftalert.blogspot.com/2008/01/crafty-chat-viva-voce-voices-from-craft.html">viva voce</a>, the artists-in-residence lecture series.  This is just one event in a new set of Craft arts series launching at Harbourfront Centre on January 19, with a free public opening reception where you can meet the artists on Friday January 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  These exhibitions include:

<p style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"  class="MsoNormal">I finally made it out to my first m.a.d.e. show in the springtime and really enjoyed the unique combo of art and craft on offer at this bi-annual affair.<br /></p>
<p style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"  class="MsoNormal">Next weekend’s show promises an opportunity to meet clothing designers, ceramicists, furniture designers, gallery artists, and other artisans,  “who believe in a vision that speaks both to themselves as well as the end user, integrating both traditional techniques and modern technology to bridge the gap between art and function”.<br /></p>
