We are excited to announce a special project we’re working on with the Textile Museum of Canada. As patrons of the museum we’ve noticed that there is fairly low visibility from street. After talking with one of the museum Board Chairs, and observing the many city bike racks and planter in front of the museum we decided that it would be fun to form a crew and “yarn bomb” the racks and planter.

Last night while admiring Elly‘s foil stamped holograph Bread Clip earrings by Sandy Plotnikoff (acquired at MADE), Grant , who himself has created a gorgeous iridescent hanging garden currently showing at MADE’s installation space*, mentioned that Sandy has a print show on at an Ossignton gallery.

With a little digging I found that Foil Problem is showing at Hunter and Cook (15 Ossington Ave.) until May 16th.

If you love colour & shiny things like I do, I think this show may really do it for you!

Grant Heaps provides a visual extrapolation of the song Daydreamin’ by Lupe Fiasco. Shreds of fabric discards are stitched together by Heaps in his own lyrical tracing of the scraps of memory and feelings that describe a life.

Traski‘s work is influenced by the rich Memento Mori and Vanitas themes in 17th century Dutch paintings and also Victorian obsession with the death culture. Compartmentalization is a reoccurring element in her work, such as taxonomy, order, boxes, collections, cabinets of curiosities, and photographs held captive within their frames.
