There are a whole new crop of wonderful looking exhibitions opening at Harbourfront Centre tomorrow night. Among them is LOOK Out, which will feature the work of current Harbourfront Craft Department Artists-In-Residence. Take a look at Harbourfront’s website under current visual arts programs for a sneak peak at some of the seriously dynamic work that will be in the show. I’m particularly excited to check out the work of some [...]

Last week, I attended a screening there, where I learned about these great little Valentine’s-oriented workshops happening within the next few weeks, held in partnership with awesome locals Preloved and The Japanese Paper Place. I love the OCAD(U) Book Arts Fair – it is great for picking up beautiful cards, affordable prints, and other fun gifts (or loot for yourself) by emerging makers as well as ogling/investing in amazing handwork by really skilled bookmakers. At a show a couple of years ago I came across some seriously trippy handprinted papers there that I am saving for a special project (yet to reveal itself, but when it does, I am ready!). It is a holiday sale, [...]

I admit to being a little out-to-lunch when it comes to keeping informed about The Power Plant‘s programming. I can’t for the life of me remember where I found out about it, but I came across this neat little bookmaking workshop for kids that will be happening there this weekend. Cheers to The Power Plant for spreading the artists’ book gospel to people of all ages!
