<p>Last year&#8217;s <a href="http://www.supercrawl.ca/">Supercrawl </a>(the annual music-enhanced version of Hamilton&#8217;s monthly <a href="http://www.jamesstreetnorth.ca/blog/">James Street North Art Crawl</a>) blew everyones minds.  While the bands were incredible and the eats &#38; treats delicious, the thing that really got me was the caliber of public art that studded the streets and sidewalks of James North. I passed by it a few nights ago in a mad holiday-fuelled rush and it provided me with both a brief respite and the lingering pleasure of pondering it for the rest of my walk&#8230;!  Aren&#8217;t window galleries great for just these reasons? </p>

		<description><![CDATA[<br/><p>So far most of the successful projects coming out of Regent Park seem to emerge from honest engagement with the existing community and the local culture, and it sounds like this call for public art calls for a similar approach.  I also appreciate the broad possible materials list that includes textiles and ceramics and the fact that this is open to collectives and community orgs.  Excited to see what pieces they choose!</p>
