Thanks to my pal Lizz and her blog post reminding me about interdisciplinary artist extraordinnaire Jeannie Thib’s installation in *QueenSpecific Gallery‘s window space. I passed by it a few nights ago in a mad holiday-fuelled rush and it provided me with both a brief respite and the lingering pleasure of pondering it for the rest of my walk…! Aren’t window galleries great for just these reasons?

After seven years of BeautifulCity.ca Alliance campaigning, Toronto City Council will be voting on a billboard tax for art at its next meeting on November 30 and December 1.

The Naked Sheep is hosting a World Wide Knit In Public Day Event at The Beach. On June 13th starting at noon until we just can’t knit anymore.

All fibre enthusiasts are welcome – knitters, crocheters, spinners. The cost is free, we just ask folks to RSVP to ensure we have enough refreshments and snacks.

Have you kids ever checked out Alley Jaunt? It’s this super cute community arts event that takes place in August in the north-east alleyway right off Trinity-Bellwoods park. Residents offer up their garages as gallery spaces for a wide range of artsy/craftsy/performanced-based projects. As an extra cute bonus, visitors are given “passports” which they can have stamped when they visit each garage.
