I passed by it a few nights ago in a mad holiday-fuelled rush and it provided me with both a brief respite and the lingering pleasure of pondering it for the rest of my walk&#8230;!  Aren&#8217;t window galleries great for just these reasons? </p>

		<description><![CDATA[<br/><p>One of my favourite things about the <a href="http://www.textilemuseum.ca">Textile Museum of Canada</a> is that their curators often integrate the work of contemporary artists with objects from their permanent collection of textiles.  It is a relatively rare treat to see them focus an entire show on the textile-based and textile-related work of contemporary artists.  <em>Veiled</em> will feature the work of three artists working across media.  Looking so forward to seeing this once I&#8217;ve returned from my sojourn in the US of A&#8230;</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<br/><p><em>I first encountered <a href="http://laurastpierre.com/Artist.asp?ArtistID=24660&#38;Akey=8V568YFL">Laura St. Pierre</a>&#8216;s work on the wall of her apartment in Montreal (where we both lived in the early 2000s).  The sculpture, painted an electric shade of chartreuse, oozed off the wall in the most pleasing way.  I fell in love, and over the years I&#8217;ve watched Laura&#8217;s multidisciplinary practice evolve in more and more intriguing directions.   Eager to better understand her work (and share it with you guys!), I asked Laura a series of questions from her current home base in Grand Prairie, Alberta, where she teaches visual arts.</em></p>

Learn one of the oldest forms of printmaking and become part of this rich history with our introduction to the intaglio printmaking. This course will take you from a blank piece of copper to a rich black and white print. Learn all steps of this printmaking practice from plate preparation, the use of different grounds for drawing and the final printing.</p>
