Heads (and elbows!*) up that the Textile Museum‘s annual More Than Just a Yardage Sale is upon us this Friday. Get down to the TMC to score major deals on yardage, yarn, embroidery supplies, books, and even some vintage garb. Last year I walked away with arms full of fabric, old needlepoint books & mags, a blouse from 1910, and a wool scarf from Japan!

Strolling along Queen West this weekend I noticed a storefront covered in kraft paper and “Pawnathon” signage. Google did me a solid and led me to the Pawnathon Canada website where I learned that this is a History Channel production being filmed at a 4 day event coming to Toronto in April. The Parkdale Bazaar will focus on vintage and handmade items. Locals will be given an outlet for showcase and sales to promote craft, recycled and homegrown merchandise.
